Dementia is an umbrella term that refers to a range of neurological conditions that affect the brain and worsen over time, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Dementia is a loss of cognitive functioning and behavioral abilities to the point of interfering with a person’s daily activities. While it is normal to lose some brain neurons as we age, people living with dementia lose a lot more. This condition is not a normal part of aging. There is no definite way to prevent dementia, but here are steps you can take to help reduce your risk of developing this condition:
